The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) announced on 25 April 2024 that they had imposed strict punishment on members of the women's national Moldovan representative team for their involvement in a match-fixing scheme during a FIFA 2024 UEFA World Cup Qualifier in 2022. As a result of the gravity of their offenses, four players and the head coach have received eligibility bans.
